The Return of Dylan?
Haley Dunphy is your stereotypical teenager who doesn’t care about school or her future, but instead is focused on chasing boys and keeping up on the latest gossip. In the first season of Modern Family we meet her boyfriend, Dylan, an older boy who is a rebel in a band. Much like his girlfriend, Dylan’s not the smartest boy in the world, but he’s also one of the more sensitive boys.
As a musician, he channels these feelings into his music, and ways to win her back during their on-again, off-again relationship. Over the first two seasons, Phil and Dylan develop a bond because Phil never wants his daughter’s boyfriends to feel like they are not good enough for his daughters. The last time we saw Dylan he joined the Dunphy and Pritchetts in Jackson Hole for vacation.
After Haley refused his proposal, he decided to stay in Wyoming to be a ranch hand. His witty one liners and complete oblivious attitude are something that is missing from the show. Possibly in the near future, Dylan may return to the lives of the Dunphy Pritchetts, or at least we can all hope.
