Which type of Doumbek is best for beginners?
I love listening to music from the Middle East, and so I have decided that I would like to learn how to play some for myself. I have decided the easiest thing for me to learn, and the most fun as far as I am concerned, would be the doumbek. However, I am not sure which type I should buy. Which type of doumbek is best for beginners? Should I buy a copper doumbek, or one that is made of aluminum or ceramic? And what type of head should I get for the drum? I like the idea of a natural one, but I have heard these might be harder to use.
