Do You Need a Personal Trainer?
You may. Then again you may not. It all depends on your attitude towards working out. If you’re one of those people who can almost always get yourself to the gym, and then put in a good hard workout when you’re there, you probably don’t need a personal trainer to motivate you, which is the main benefit of having a trainer. Now, I can hear all the personal trainers out there yelling about their credentials, education, experience, etc. These are surely nice things to have, and they can be beneficial to some clients, but motivated people can figure out what works for them on their own, based on their experience. It may take them longer than if they worked with a fitness pro, but they save money. It’s up to them to decide what’s more important. Actually, the main place a personal trainer could help this type of person is letting them know when it’s ok to back off.
Now, if you’re the type of person who always shuts off the alarm clock and rolls over for a few more z’s when you’re supposed to be up and on your way to the gym, then, yes, you probably need a personal trainer. Or an alarm clock that throws cold water on you when you hit the snooze button. But you need something to get you to the gym on a regular basis, and push you to put in a good hard workout when you’re there. In your case, workout training fees will probably be money well spent.
