Finally I Get My Real Oak Floors!
Real oak flooring! I have finally got my wish and found a house to move into that has real oak floors!
For so long now I’ve wanted to have a house that has real solid wood flooring. I’ve had laminate before and found it too lightweight and to be honest, slightly cheap looking. I’ve also had floorboards, that basically had the carpets ripped up from over them. They were bad too as they had gaps and therefore let out heat and let in insects and a damp element.
I’ve also had carpets, and I admit in some rooms, they are great, but you can’t in my eyes really have carpet in a highly trodden area as they do mark so easily.
So, I always wanted real solid flooring, and being English I’ve always had an eye on oak flooring. I just think it looks great and it is so solid underfoot that you feel it is a real base to walk on.
The best thing though is it’s free! Well, it is for me as it is already installed in the house I am to move into. So all I need to is a wee bit of maintenance and then it’s a beautiful looking wooden floor for me to slide across!
