Learning how to build
It was really a decision on whether we wanted a pergola or not or even where we were going to put it. It was a question of when I could do it. I retired and wanted to do wood working projects and a pergola looked like something that we needed and that I could do. Several of the big box stores had the kits for sale but I wanted to know how to build a pergola myself. It took me a couple of starts and some help from a neighbor but now we have a beautiful pergola in our lower yard.
