The popular tourist town of Lancelin Australia is also a crayfish and lobster fishery port. The town has a population of six hundred and grows to house as many as two thousand five hundred tourists during the holiday season. There are several holiday shacks in the town that soon fill to capacity during holiday periods. The peak holiday period lasts from Christmas to New Years each year. Kite surfing, windsurfing, and sand boarding are very popular past times for tourists and locals alike. Lancelin is also known for being located close to the rocky 1656 shipwreck site Verfulde Draeck or Gilt Dragon.
