Types of wind turbines
A Wind Turbine can come in various shapes and sizes. Small wind turbines are used to power homes. They usually have the capacity to produce below 100 kilowatts of energy. A commercial sized Wind Turbine have the capacity to produce 5 megawatts of energy. Large wind turbines are usually grouped together into a wind farm. A wind farm is basically a large grouping of wind turbines put together. A wind farm provides energy to a power grid. Wind farms can be found on the top of rounded hills, in mountain gaps, along shorelines, and in plains the produce wind funneling.
