Because all of you spend the money!
I find that it is a rare thing in families that are having money difficulties that just one person is the culprit. Although it is certainly possible, in most families it is not just one person who is doing the wrong things with the family finances — usually both parents as well as the kids are pretty much clueless when it comes to handling their financial matters in a responsible way. That’s why I recommend finance training for families — when an entire family gets this training, everyone benefits. Which also means — once the training is over — that no one in the family has any excuse for inappropriate behavior. Everyone will be held accountable.
